What is the purpose of the WRSF? 

The WRSF promotes and sponsors working dog events for members interested in obtain internationally recognized working titles and evaluations for the Giant Schnauzer in the United States.

The word "Riesenschnauzer" translated into English means, "Giant Schnauzer".

The WRSF focuses on training, development and competition using FCI guidelines for Utility Trials and Tracking Trials along with the internationally recognized breed standard for the Giant Schnauzer as written by the breed's country of origin and original registry, the Pinscher-Schnauzer Klub, to preserve the working heritage of the Giant Schnauzer in the United States.

The WRSF is a member of the American Working Dog Federation and the International Schnauzer Pinscher Union, a member club of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale.

What events are hosted by the WRSF?

The WRSF hosts and supports National, Regional and local IGP Trials, Conformation Shows, Training Seminars, Educational Seminars and group events in the United States so the Giant Schnauzer, their owners and any enthusiasts can participate, compete, title or simply learn more about the breed.

Why is there a WRSF and a GSCA?

The Working Riesenschnauzer Federation is the only American Working Dog Association Member Club for the Giant Schnauzer in the United States of America. The WRSF hosts and supports Utility and Tracking Dog Trials (IGP) and other related events following Fédération Cynologique Internationale standards and guidelines.

The Giant Schnauzer Club of America, Inc is the only American Kennel Club Parent Club for the Giant Schnauzer in the United States of America. The GSCA hosts and supports AKC Dog Shows and other related events and follows AKC standards and guidelines.

These two clubs give Giant Schnauzer owners and enthusiast in the United States the opportunity to participate and compete in events one or the other may not or cannot offer because of club guidelines or governing regulations. This is also why many WRSF members are also GSCA members and support both clubs.

Who may  compete at a WRSF events?

Owners and handlers of the Giant Schnauzer (and other breeds) may compete in WRSF events.

Do I have to be a member to compete at WRSF trials?

 Owners of the Giant Schnauzers competing in WRSF National and Regional Championship Trials must be WRSF members. All other breeds with AWDF or FCI issued scorebooks may participate in any trial hosted and supported by the WRSF.

 Do I have to be a member to compete at a WRSF Conformation Event?

You do not have to be a member to compete in CONFORMATION events unless your Giant Schnauzer is competing for the breed suitability survey (Korong).
